There are some great entry points around New Zealand that people migrate to so they can enjoy New Year and the arrival of the new year.
Most of hotspots have outdoor concerts at night and events over the next two days to keep all visitors entertained.
Auckland is a great day racing in the New Year's Day, but many citizens of Auckland head towards Mount Maunganui, Whangamata on the Peninsula or Gisborne Coromandal. It is the "Monte" (Mount Maunganui) as is known, is one of the most popular celebrations of Saint-Sylvestre in the North Island. It is the "mountain" is a young city in celebration of New Years.
Whangamata is a coastal town on the peninsula Coromandal which is about 2 hours drive from Auckland that swells to 60,000 during the period New.

Gisborne is a big outdoor concert and New Year's party at all. Gisborne is also the first city to see the sun of New Year in the world.

The South Island offers, Nelson, Takaka, Wanaka and Queenstown. Nelson Tahuna Beach is the main entertainment area. The alternative life-dryers usually head to Takaka near Nelson on Takaka Hill. This has become more popular to integrate the New Year's revelers and has a big party at Takaka Hill every year.

In Wanaka Central Otago is an hour from Queenstown and the home of the young in particular the search for New Year Party (13-20 years).
Queenstown is the main party South Island and is home to all ages and types of revelers. The center is closed and the bands are placed around the city something to offer everyone.
